Okay, I think I figured this out. I’ve always assumed that Completed
was a higher ‘value’ than Passed. But according the schema documentation for
drAssignableUnitTranscipt.lessonStatus the value of Passed is higher than
Completed
“Passed (or p or pass) means the required number
of objectives in the lesson were mastered, or the required score was achieved.
The student is considered to have completed the lesson and passed.
Completed (or c) means the lesson may or may not be passed, but all the
elements in the lesson were experienced by the student. The student is
considered to have completed the lesson. For example, passing may depend on a
certain score known to the CMI system. The lesson knows the raw score, but not
whether that raw score was high enough to pass.”
Since that is the case, it appears that passed means I know that
you both completed the SCO and that you have met the scoring criteria.
Completed just means that I know you completed the SCO, but I don’t know
anything about scoring. Now things make more sense with my testing.
Thanks,
Robert

Ellen,
Thanks. Is this the bug where
Articulate doesn’t wait for a response back from the server and they needed to
slow down the sending of info to the LMS in case the LMS was busy?

I am not sure about the first issue - I'll have to do some testing. But the
second issue, where the SCO's are completed but the course itself will not
complete is an Articulate bug with Quizmaker that they resolved about a year
ago. It requires you to run an updater on existing courses. Go to
Articulate.com to get it.
