RE: [docent_users] Re: Error 2908: A session already exists for this user on robertt

Joe and Dan,

Thanks.  I’ve tried truncating drTicket too  along
with a service restart, without success.  The only time I have ever seen
it was after a db refresh and a second refresh has always worked, and like you
say Dan, I only see this about once year.  I was just hoping someone had
found the secret to this bizarre error.  I keep wondering if there is
another table that stores some kind of server variable that get’s updated
periodically and is used somehow during the authentication process.

Dan, in answer to your question, it happens for every login I
try, even users who have no previous login history (drUser.lastLogin is null).

Thank you.

Robert Taylor

Robert,

Is the error just for the user 'robertt?'  I agree with Joe.  I've
seen this about two times in the past and I had to clear the DRSession and
DRTicket rows associated with this specific user.  That cleared up the
problem for me.  I haven't run into this issue in about a year.  Very
rare, but not impossible.

No, I haven't done anything
with that area of the code.

The only other thing I can suggest would be to truncate DRTicket in
addition to DRSession, and then reboot the server before attempting
to log in to make sure there's nothing cached in the RBAC engine,
DOCENTISAPI and so forth.
