My understanding is that SumTotal Systems has committed to a 2nd quarter 2006 delivery for the 7.2 version of TotalLMS, and that has been publicly announced at a number of STS events. Now, when in 2nd quarter is another question. I have seen other companies pop a CD-R in a mailer and drop it in a FedEx box just before midnight on 30-June to “meet†a 2nd quarter shipment goal, but I don’t get the impression that’s what we are talking about here. My copy should already be on order, so I will let everyone know when I receive it.
addendum: official release was 2006-04-26, so the clock is ticking, let's see how long before my copy arrives.
In regard to what’s going to be in the update, a fair amount was shared in the recent Docent 6.x to SumTotal 7.x Upgrade presentation session, back on 2006-03-21. You can find the PowerPoint presentation for that session on the CPC, called 'SumTotal Upgrade Web Seminar for Docent Customers', uploaded 2006-03-24.
